Tessa has worked in every aspect of the Safari/Africa travel industry and has gained vast knowledge over the past 30 years and is able to offer a marketing and representation service with all the necessary understanding to make it a success!

 

Tessa was born in South Africa. After studying Hotel Management she began her career with Mala Mala Game Reserve, a prestigious safari operation in South Africa. Her position required her to work in all areas including catering, reception, and housekeeping.

 

Tessa moved to the Okavango Delta in Botswana in the early 1990s. This was at a time when this beautiful part of the world was relatively undiscovered and she fell in love with this amazing country. Tessa worked in a variety of roles including General Manager, Hostess, and Relief Camp Manager. During this time Tessa obtained her Botswana Professional Guides Licence.

 

Tessa started her own safari staff recruitment agency and work permit consultancy in Maun and sold it in 2000 when she moved to the UK.  To start off in the UK Tessa worked for a representation and marketing company that won a tender to facilitate the Botswana Tourism account in the UK. This was the perfect position for Tessa, as she could still be passionate about the country which she regarded as home. Tessa was able to help to promote Botswana - the destination. This was also Tessa’s introduction to the UK Africa travel industry.

 

Tessa left her position as a Sales and Marketing Manager at a large East African DMC to start Tsessabe in 2007. Tina McNab has been working with Tessa in the office for over 8 years and, although works part-time, she is Tessa's 'right-hand woman!'
